The confusion stems from a birth certificate Bernando’s granddaughter says was incorrectly with a birthdate of 1910 instead of 1901.
The birth certificate was issued at a Social Security office in Florida sometime in the mid 1930s. His home town in Brazil doesn’t have a birth record for him at all.
